(whole caps, cleaned)
1/2 to 1 cup
milk or soy milk
1/2 cup
all-purpose flour
Panko breadcrumbs
(enough to coat the mushrooms)
Oil for frying
For assembly:
Burger buns
Spicy mayo
Katsu sauce
Shredded cabbage
Recipe

Step 1.
Mix milk (or soy milk) with flour

Step 2.
Dip the portobello into the mix and then into panko breadcrumbs

Step 3.
Fry on both sides until golden brown

Step 4.
Layer: bottom bun, spicy mayo, fried portobello, katsu sauce, cabbage, top bun.
